Changing Woman

Swirls of colour

Silk and lace

Black and white in between

The rise and fall of strings

Masks of hiding who we are

Waiting for a man

To sweep her off her feet

He never comes to set her free

She turns away from that world

Trading make-up and ball gowns

For a short haircut and a pair of pants

She’ll be labeled she knows

But she has realized she never needed a man

Society has told her lies

She can do it on her own

      1. Use it when a classical form works. Avoid it during Christmas season, cuz. Clement Moore, alas. Play around with different formats and none so folks don’t have expectations.
